This exhibit is sponsored by the Schoolhouse Museum and in honor of former Tuskegee Airman William R. White of Smithfield.
The fully functional mobile movie theatre features two compelling original short stories that tell the story of the Tuskegee Airmen and women Airforce Service Pilots and the obstacles they overcame to be able to fly and fight for the country during WWII.
This immersive experience is housed in a climate controlled 53' semi-trailer with expandable sides and is equipped with a ramp and hydraulic lift to ensure access for all. It comfortably accomodates 30-40 visitors for each showing. Because of its dynamic 160 degree panoramic screen, the film creates the feeling of being in a cockpit soaring above the clouds.
Admission is free. Be sure to visit hte Schoolhouse Museum aslo, located at 516 Main Street, across from Main Street Baptist Church.
