"Ham-o-Ween" - Halloween Safe Trick or Treating and Costume Contest in Downtown Smithfield

Downtown Smithfield's annual "Ham-o-Ween" - Safe Trick or Treating and Costume Contest will take place this year on October 31st from 5-7pm! 

Main Street comes alive with costumes from bunnies to skeletons and everything in between. Up to 3,000 people attend each year. Participating businesses and organizations on Main Street hand out candy followed by a costume contest on The Smithfield Times gazebo stage at 5:30pm.

Once activities wind up on Main Street, trick-or-treaters often head over to Grace Street, where residents pull out all the stops in decorations and candy. Main and Grace Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 4-8pm to allow participants to safely arrive and depart.

A town ordinance restricts trick-or-treating to children age 12 and under.
